Tablet

Due to the Corona crisis, the deficits of digital sleepiness became very obvious.

The federal government has just made an additional €500 million available for devices such as tablets and notebooks for students. A shift model that alternates between in-school attendance and working from home on a weekly basis also presents new challenges.

But what will happen to the newly acquired devices when normal or shift-based classes resume at school? At the few schools that have already installed a halfway functioning Wi-Fi network, overworked teachers will find themselves in the following scenarios:

"While class 6c is attempting internet research and class 9b is working on a shared Google document, class 7a's substitute lesson is running educational videos on 25 computers and tablets, bringing the entire Wi-Fi system to its knees. In the end, nothing works, and everyone is frustrated. The students and especially the teachers."

Learn from mistakes, use the time, the resources are available.

The responsible teachers are well aware of this. Many take Wi-Fi, in particular, lightly, as it often proves difficult to administer in daily practice. This is even more serious during the current coronavirus crisis, as there is already a lack of time and nerves are frayed. So, what will happen to the newly purchased tablets and notebooks with the additional emergency grant?

Especially now, as pressure on schools increases, they run the risk of accepting seemingly cheap offers too quickly. However, cheap and fast is dangerous, especially when it comes to Wi-Fi:

We're currently seeing an increasing number of offers that offer Wi-Fi hardware specifically for schools and education, which, for example, state that it's not necessary to conduct detailed Wi-Fi planning. A few access points are simply connected to the existing network in a matter of minutes. "The more, the better, for good coverage," is the bold promise. Automatic channel matching and mutual transmission power adjustment are no magic cure for Wi-Fi. While these features are part of the offerings of almost every current Wi-Fi manufacturer, they are only one part of a complex concept for a permanently reliable and, above all, secure Wi-Fi environment. In order for the DigitalPakt School funding program to gain momentum and fulfill its purpose when schools reopen, it needs professional support, especially when it comes to Wi-Fi, which has been prioritized for current reasons.

Schools require conscientious and professional WLAN planning from experienced WLAN experts right from the start.

We're aware of the stability and flexibility requirements of Wi-Fi networks, which is why we help you with the design and implementation from the very beginning. We'll work with you to oversee the entire Wi-Fi process, right up to its functional operation over the coming years. This will ensure this exact scenario doesn't happen again... you know, the one with the clunky internet searches, the jerky learning videos, and the live streams that cut out during class. :)

We're also here to help with critical issues like Wi-Fi security and simple administration during ongoing operations. Our Wi-Fi concept is based on the latest technology and differs fundamentally from standard Wi-Fi controller solutions, keeping ongoing administration costs low. Our knowledge and expertise are based on decades of experience in the education, logistics, industrial, sports, and event sectors.

We therefore offer help and support. An initial consultation on Wi-Fi for schools and education is free of charge for all interested teachers and educational institutions.
