By using Mist Wi-Fi access points and microservices in the MIST Cloud in conjunction with Wi-Fi and/or BLE-enabled devices such as phones and badges, organizations can now leverage the following business-critical use cases:

  • *Proximity tracing (close range tracking): If an individual is identified as COVID-19 positive (or exhibiting symptoms of illness), businesses can quickly identify and notify other employees, guests or customers who may have been in proximity to that individual while on-site.

  • *Journey mapping (traffic pattern recording): Customers can view traffic patterns and dwell times of employees who test positive for COVID-19 from the time they arrive on-site until they leave. The trip map can be used to identify high-traffic zones so customers can implement safety measures such as revising work areas and additional cleaning measures.

  • *Hot zone alerting: By looking at the amount of equipment and locations in specific areas, companies can divide or reroute people traffic from congested areas using real-time location-based alerts. They can also look at trends over time to identify specific areas for proactive action.
