Up to 300,000 fans experienced the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil together in Berlin at the Hyundai Fan Park site between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate.

The visitors experienced the major open-air event Fan Mile Berlin Live and with all the emotions that come with a World Cup. And where there are emotions, social media platforms like Facebook aren't far away. This year, title sponsor Hyundai has integrated social media into this 13-day fan spectacle and, together with the wirelessmaxx team, developed a suitable Wi-Fi concept. The implementation was also handled by wirelessmaxx.

Our Wi-Fi solution enabled a connection between fans and Hyundai. The football fans' smartphones serve as a gateway into the world of Hyundai. This gateway enabled a direct exchange between fans and the brand.

For this purpose, the Hyundai Facebook page was used, offering the opportunity to participate in a competition. With the added value of the chance to win, Hyundai was able to improve its image at the Berlin Fan Mile. The long-term goal is to further strengthen customer loyalty.
