Up to 300,000 fans experienced the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil together in Berlin at the Hyundai Fan Park area between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate.
The visitors experienced the major open-air event Berlin fan mile live and with all the emotions that belong to a world championship. And where there are emotions, social platforms on the Internet like Facebook are not far away. This year, the title sponsor Hyundai planned the social networks for this 13-day fan spectacle and developed a suitable WLAN concept together with the wirelessmaxx team. The implementation was also carried out by wirelessmaxx.
Our WiFi solution made it possible to establish a connection between Fan and the Hyundai company. Football fans' smartphones serve as the entrance door to the world of Hyundai. This door made a direct exchange between fan and brand possible.
For this purpose, the Hyundai Facebook page was used, where it was possible to take part in a competition. With the added value of the chance to win, Hyundai managed to improve its image on the Berlin Fan Mile. The long-term goal is to further strengthen customer loyalty.

We, the wirelessmaxx, were part of Hyundai's event concept for 2014 and for us it was one of the largest projects we were involved in. More than 34,000 unique devices were registered for one sponsor.
